Threaded Type Water Level Electrode

An electric contact level gauge consists of a level measuring cylinder, electric contacts, and a level transmitter . Due to the significant difference in conductivity between water and steam (taking a power plant boiler steam drum as an example, water resistance is typically tens of kΩ, while steam resistance is above 1 MΩ), the insulator of the electric contact insulates the contact from the outer shell of the level measuring cylinder. When the water level submerges the electric contact, the lower resistance of water connects the contact to the container’s outer shell. Changes in the resistance of water and steam are converted into electrical information, which is sent to the level transmitter for calculation and logical judgment, ultimately outputting a signal via a relay.

The electric contact level gauge and electric contact liquid level display are designed based on the different resistivities of water and steam. The electrodes of the measuring cylinder have low impedance to the cylinder body in water and high impedance to the cylinder body in steam. As the water level changes, the number of electrodes in the water changes, which is converted into a change in resistance value. This change is transmitted to the secondary instrument , thereby realizing functions such as water level display, alarm, and protective interlocking.

This type of electrode has a pressure rating greater than 60 kg and less than 220 kg, making it a high-pressure model; a pressure rating less than 60 kg is a standard model.

They can be widely used in large and medium-sized boilers in power generation, dyeing and textile, chemical and other industrial and mining enterprises to monitor the water level of boiler drums, high-pressure heaters, deaerators, evaporators, condensers, once-through boiler start-up separators, and double water-cooled generator water tanks, as well as other conductive liquid levels.

Note: For pressure applications above 64 kg (6.4 MPa), please select the high-pressure model. For pressure applications below 64 kg (6.4 MPa), the standard model will suffice.
